What Do Molly Mae and Victoria Beckham Have in Common? A £7 Amazon Skincare Staple

Amazon has reduced a popular moisturiser used by celebrities such as Molly-Mae Hague and Victoria Beckham in its huge Prime Day sale. The online retailer has slashed prices on thousands of products in the sale event, which runs until Friday, July 11.

The Weleda Skin Food Light 75ml moisturiser has been reduced from £12 to £7.66. Amazon describes the product as a “universal lightweight moisturising saviour of dry, rough skin on face and body”, adding: “this multi-tasking lightweight dry skin saviour for body and face is specially formulated to help hydrate your skin from top to toe, ideal for helping to smooth rough skin patches.

“The light version of our original easy-to-soak-in moisturiser uses the power of plants and essential oils to leave skin feeling smooth and cared-for. Daily moisturising cream that’s gentle on skin, apply generously several times a day, or wherever your skin needs a little extra help – especially on extra dry areas like hands, feet and elbows.”

Alternatively, shoppers can snap up the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ for £9.35 (down from £11) at Boots. LookFantastic stocks the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream 50ml for £27.75 (down from £37), while Space NK has Tatcha’s The Dewy Skin Cream for £26.

The product, which Molly Mae said on YouTube her makeup artist “always” uses on her, has racked up rave reviews online. Among them, one person said: “Best moisturiser ever! Beautiful smelling, lightweight and easily absorbed into the skin. All natural and does not irritate my skin at all, I use it on my face and neck everyday, the best moisturiser I’ve found.”

A second wrote: “Amazing! I use Weleda skin food every morning before applying my makeup. You really don’t need to use a lot and it goes a long way. I have never found it to be greasy and it’s a good base before applying makeup. It’s not runny and really easy to apply. I have used this for 2 years now, love the smell and my skin is lovely and soft.”

However, some shoppers had issues with the product, with one saying: “Purchased after it was recommended by a friend. After a few days I’ve broken out so bad!” Another wrote: “Smells lovely. Feels great. But makes me break out horribly and gives me black heads very badly.”

Despite this, many continued to praise the moisturiser. One person said: “This has changed my sallow old skin into a lovely complexion…..” and a second added: “Lovely thick consistency for my dry skin. Better than expensive skincare. Great value for money, hydrates very well.”
