Dan Evans Fires Back at Andy Murray in Wimbledon Roof Drama – ‘It Helped Dimitrov!’

Dan Evans has told raging Andy Murray that the decision to close the roof during Jannik Sinner’s Wimbledon match with Grigor Dimitrov could have helped the Bulgarian.
World No.1 Sinner was 2-0 down in sets to the veteran Bulgarian and on the verge of one of the biggest upsets of the tournament – where there was a stoppage of around 30 minutes to close to the roof on centre court.
In the end, Dimitrov would have to to retire due to a serious-looking injury picked up just minutes after play resumed – but Evans contradicted the Scot declaring that the stoppage could have actually worked in his favour had he not suffered a tear of his left pectoral muscle.
He told talkSPORT: “I have had it closed on me on court one before – but we never started with it closed.
“I think they have to start with it open because it’s an outdoor tournament, unless it’s raining, obviously.
“I saw Andy’s tweet, that he thought it was premature that they shut the roof, but I guess they have their reasons. For me I didn’t see it as a problem – I actually thought it would help Gregor a bit.
“In the end it didn’t matter, but everyone has an opinion on these things, but in the end it wasn’t
